Description
A hand-riveted outdoor lantern in aged copper with clear glass, sized for front porches, entryways, and garage exteriors.
The Rue De Royal captures the historic romance of gas lighting without a propane feed. Fully electric and thoughtfully designed, it blends old-world charm with modern convenience. A hand-riveted metal frame enhances its authentic character, while the aged copper finish evokes the warmth of a French countryside estate. Metal finishes will naturally mature and patina over time, creating a living finish that grows more beautiful with age.
Best for
- Front entryways and porches, mounted beside a door for welcoming illumination
- Garage exteriors and side doors where a traditional lantern silhouette suits the architecture
- Covered patios and exterior spaces that call for timeless elegance
- Homes with French country, traditional, or historic architectural styles
Not ideal for
- Interior rooms - this is an outdoor lantern designed for exterior installation
- Spaces where you want a bright, broad wash of light - a single 100W bulb provides focused, lantern-style illumination
- Modern minimalist exteriors that call for sleek, unadorned fixtures
How bright is it?
One 100W medium-base bulb (not included) provides ample illumination for an entryway or porch. Brightness in lumens depends on the bulb you choose - a 100W-equivalent LED typically produces around 1600 lumens, enough to light a doorway and immediate surroundings.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulb you install. For a warm, welcoming exterior, choose a 2700K-3000K bulb; for a crisper, more modern look, try 4000K. The clear glass shade lets the bulb's character show through.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 17.75 in W x 13.5 in D x 22.5 in H, with a 6 in cord. At 22.5 in tall, this lantern suits single-story entries and porches with standard 8-9 ft ceilings. The 13.5 in depth provides generous projection from the wall.
