Description
A 14-inch semi-flush mount ceiling light with a double glass shade, made for bedrooms, hallways, and other rooms with standard-height ceilings.
The Rowland pairs a matte black steel frame with two layers of glass: A clear outer shade for a classic look and a sandblasted inner shade that softens the glow into a warm, even light. At just under 10 inches tall, it hugs the ceiling without crowding the room.
Best for
- Bedrooms and hallways with 8-9 ft ceilings where a full pendant would hang too low
- Entryways and foyers that need an inviting overhead light without a large chandelier
- Dining nooks and breakfast areas in small to mid-size homes
- Rooms with modern, transitional, or industrial-farmhouse decor
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for dry locations only
- Large open rooms that need a high-output centerpiece light
- Spaces where you want to change the bulb without a ladder - it mounts close to the ceiling
How bright is it?
Uses two 60W medium-base bulbs (not included). Lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose - with standard 800-lumen LED bulbs, expect roughly 1,600 lumens total, about as bright as two 60W incandescent bulbs. That is good ambient light for a bedroom or hallway, not a substitute for a large primary room light.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you install. The sandblasted inner glass diffuses the light for a soft, glare-free glow, so 2700K-3000K warm white bulbs will feel especially cozy. Dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.
Sizing and fit
Measures 14 in L x 14 in W x 9.75 in H with a 5 in W x 5 in L canopy. The low profile suits ceilings 8 ft and taller. Weighs 8.11 lbs.

Frequently asked
Is the bulb included? No. It takes two 60W medium-base bulbs, sold separately.
Is it dimmable? Yes, when used with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.
Can I install this in a bathroom or outdoors? No. It is rated for dry locations only.
What's the warranty? Warranty details are not specified by the manufacturer.
Does the double glass shade affect brightness? The sandblasted inner shade softens and diffuses the light, so it reads slightly warmer and less harsh than a single clear glass shade.
