Description
A hand-riveted solid copper outdoor lantern that brings the romance of antique gas lighting to your front porch or entryway.
From the Chalmers collection, this lantern captures the historic look of gas lighting without the hassle of a propane feed. It is all electric, solid copper, and hand riveted, giving your home the romantic reproduction style of antique gas lights still popular today on many of the charming homes in New Orleans and Charleston.
Best for
- Front porches and entryways where a warm, welcoming glow is needed
- Homes with traditional, historic, or Southern-inspired architecture
- Covered outdoor areas that need a statement piece with old-world charm
- Pairing with other aged copper or antique brass outdoor hardware
Not ideal for
- Exposed, uncovered locations where direct rain and weather hit the fixture
- Modern or minimalist exteriors that call for sleek, contemporary lines
- Spaces where a very bright, broad wash of light is required
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer. This lantern uses three 15W candelabra base bulbs, which provide a warm, ambient glow suitable for accent and entryway lighting rather than primary area illumination.
Light color and feel
Light color depends on the bulbs you choose. The clear glass shade lets the bulb's character show through, so a warm white bulb will enhance the antique gaslight look. The fixture is not listed as dimmable in the source specifications.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 12 in L x 12 in W x 26 in H. At 26 inches tall, it suits standard porch ceilings and entryways. The 6-inch cord length is designed for hardwired installation.
