Description
A 4-light ceiling fan light kit in oil rubbed bronze with frosted glass, designed to add bright, even light to any room with a compatible fan.
The Basic-Max light kit is the practical upgrade for a ceiling fan that's already installed but doesn't put out enough light. The oil rubbed bronze finish has a warm, dark tone that pairs well with traditional and transitional decor, and the frosted glass shade softens the light so it feels even rather than harsh. It installs three ways - close mount, standard stem, or with optional stems up to 72 inches - so it can work with a range of ceiling heights.
Best for
- Bedrooms where you want a fan and a central light from one fixture
- Living rooms and family rooms with a compatible ceiling fan that needs more light output
- Home offices and craft rooms where even, glare-free light matters
- Anyone upgrading an existing fan instead of replacing the whole unit
- Rooms with standard or slightly high ceilings, thanks to the flexible mounting options
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or outdoor areas - this kit is rated for dry locations only
- Fans that aren't compatible with a light kit - check your fan's model first
- Anyone who wants a bulb included - this kit ships without bulbs
How bright is it?
With four 9W LED bulbs, this kit puts out a comfortable level of light for a bedroom or living room. The exact lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose, but four 9W LEDs typically deliver around 3200-3600 lumens total - roughly equivalent to a bright, well-lit room. It's not a single-bulb accent; it's meant to be the main light source for the space.
Light color and feel
The fixture itself doesn't set the color temperature - that comes from the bulbs. The spec sheet lists 2700K, which is a warm white similar to traditional incandescent. That's a cozy, inviting tone for bedrooms and living rooms. The frosted glass shade diffuses the light evenly, so you won't see harsh hotspots. It's dimmable with a standard dimmer, so you can adjust the brightness to suit the time of day.
Sizing and fit
The kit measures 15 in long by 15 in wide by 6.75 in tall, with a 4.75 in shade height. It weighs 3.97 lbs. Because it can be mounted close to the ceiling, with a standard stem, or with optional stems up to 72 inches, it works in rooms with ceilings from about 8 ft up to 12 ft or more. The 6 ft electrical wire gives you plenty of slack for installation.
