How bright is it?

Brightness depends on the bulb used (bulb not included). The lamp accepts one standard medium-base bulb up to 150W (or equivalent LED/CFL). A 60W equivalent LED bulb produces about 800 lumens, similar to a traditional 60W incandescent, suitable for ambient or task lighting.
