Maxim Santa Barbara VX 16in 3-Light Outdoor Wall Lantern | Craftsman Sienna with Seedy Glass | Porch & Entryway | 9 x 16 in | Model 40034CDSE

A 16-inch outdoor wall lantern in a sienna finish with seedy glass - a craftsman-style light for porches, entryways, and garage walls.

The Santa Barbara VX collection is built from Vivex, a composite material the manufacturer describes as twice the strength of resin, non-corrosive, and UV resistant. The sienna finish is a warm brown that reads like aged wood or bronze, and the seedy glass has a subtle texture that softens the bulb. At 16 inches tall with an 11-inch extension, it's a substantial lantern that suits a front door or a covered patio column.

Best for

• Front entryways and porches, mounted beside the door at roughly eye level
• Garage walls and side doors where you want a matching craftsman look
• Covered patios and pergolas - it is wet-listed, so it can handle exposed weather
• Homes with craftsman or mission architecture that need a period-appropriate lantern

Not ideal for

• Indoor rooms - this is an outdoor fixture and is sized for exterior walls
• Posts or columns narrower than the 6-inch backplate
• Spaces where you want a small, unobtrusive light - at 16 inches tall it is a statement piece

How bright is it?

2016 lumens with three 60W incandescent bulbs (not included) - bright enough to light a front door and the steps around it, roughly the output of three standard 60W bulbs.

Light color and feel

Bulb-dependent: with 2700K bulbs it gives a warm, welcoming entry light. Dimmable with a standard dimmer if you want to soften it in the evening.

Sizing and fit

9 in W x 16 in H with an 11 in extension from the wall; backplate is 6 in W x 14 in H. Height from center of outlet is 3.5 in. Works on most exterior walls; check that the 11-inch projection clears walkways and railings.
