Maxim Lighting Sung 5in 1-Light Recessed Downlight | Modern Black Aluminum and PC | Hallway & Bathroom Ceiling Light | Model 87653BK

A low-profile surface-mounted LED downlight that installs snug into a 4-0 junction box, delivering recessed-look illumination for residential and commercial ceilings.

The Sung Collection downlight from Maxim Lighting pairs a slim 1.5-inch profile with a twist-locking trim that removes easily for installation. The aluminum frame can be mudded-in for an even more streamlined appearance, making it a practical choice for hallways, bathrooms, and utility areas where a clean ceiling line matters. Finished in black with a polycarbonate shade, it is economically priced yet built for 50,000 hours of rated life.

Best for

• Hallways and corridors where a flush, low-profile ceiling light is needed
• Bathrooms and powder rooms (wet-rated for direct moisture exposure)
• Residential or light commercial spaces seeking an attractive recessed alternative
• Utility rooms, closets, and stairwells with standard 4-0 junction boxes

Not ideal for

• Rooms needing a dimmable fixture on a standard incandescent dimmer - requires Triac or ELV dimming
• Spaces where a larger 6-inch aperture is preferred for broader light distribution
• Installations without a 4-0 junction box, as the fixture is designed to mount directly to it

How bright is it?

750 lumens - roughly comparable to a 60W incandescent bulb, providing ample ambient light for hallways, bathrooms, and utility spaces. It is not intended as a primary light source for large living areas.

Light color and feel

3000K warm white - a soft, inviting tone similar to traditional incandescent light. With a CRI of 90, colors render accurately, making it suitable for bathrooms and areas where appearance matters. Dimmable with Triac or ELV dimmers for adjustable brightness.

Sizing and fit

Overall dimensions are 5 inches long x 5 inches wide x 1.5 inches high, with a canopy measuring 5 x 5 x 1 inch. The 6-inch wire length accommodates standard junction box wiring. Its compact size suits ceilings in hallways, bathrooms, and utility rooms without drawing attention.
