Description
A compact 1-light exterior wall sconce in architectural bronze that throws light up and down the wall for a clean architectural wash beside doors, garages, and entryways.
From Maxim's Lightray collection, this sconce is built for indirect exterior lighting - the kind that highlights the building's structure rather than blasting light outward. The architectural bronze finish is a deep, dark tone that disappears against brick and siding, and the screw-on lens seals water tight so you can run a standard bulb inside.
Best for
- Exterior entryways and front doors, mounted as an up-and-down accent beside the frame
- Garage walls and side passages where you want architectural highlighting rather than floodlighting
- Modern and contemporary facades in bronze, brick, or dark siding
- Pairs flanking a door or spaced along a wall for a repeated wash of light
Not ideal for
- Wet-exposed locations - the source lists a dry safety rating, so avoid direct rain and sprinkler exposure
- Large driveways or security lighting - one 50W R20 bulb gives accent output, not area coverage
- Spaces that need a wide spread of light - this is a directional up/down wash
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer; it takes one 50W R20 bulb (not included). Expect accent-level brightness suited to highlighting a wall or doorway, not lighting a whole yard.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose - the fixture ships without a bulb, so pick a warm 2700-3000K R20 for a traditional exterior look or a cooler tone for a crisper modern effect.
Sizing and fit
4.25 in wide x 8 in tall with a 6.5 in extension from the wall. The compact footprint suits single doors and narrow wall sections; mount at roughly eye level or higher for the best up/down wash.

Frequently asked
Is the bulb included? No - one 50W R20 medium-base bulb is required and sold separately.
Is it dimmable, and what dimmer should I use? Dimming is not specified by the manufacturer; dimming depends on the bulb and control you pair it with.
Can I install this in a bathroom or outdoors? It is dry-location rated per the source, so keep it out of direct moisture and rain exposure.
What's the warranty? Warranty is not specified in the source data - confirm with Maxim Lighting.
How does the screw lens work? The lens seals water tight with screws, letting you use a standard bulb while keeping the socket protected.
