Maxim Lighting Essentials 584x 12in 1-Light Flush Mount | Builder Oil Rubbed Bronze and Frosted Glass | Bedroom & Hallway Ceiling | Model 5840FTOI

A 12-inch flush mount ceiling light in oil rubbed bronze with a frosted glass shade, sized for bedrooms, hallways, and closets that need even, close-to-ceiling light.

Part of Maxim's Essentials 584x collection, this low-profile flush mount sits just 6 inches from the ceiling, so it works where a pendant or semi-flush would hang too low. The oil rubbed bronze finish on the iron frame reads warm and traditional, and the frosted glass shade softens the bulb into a diffuse glow with no harsh hot spot.

Best for

• Bedrooms and guest rooms with standard 8 ft ceilings where a hanging fixture would feel crowded
• Hallways and stair landings that need steady ambient light without glare
• Closets, laundry rooms, and utility spaces where a simple close-to-ceiling light is the right call
• Builder and rental projects where one fixture style repeats through several rooms

Not ideal for

• Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is dry-location rated only
• Large open rooms as the sole light source - one 60W bulb gives accent-level output, not room-filling brightness
• Spaces where you want the fixture itself to be a focal point - this is a clean, understated design

How bright is it?

672 lumens with the rated bulb - roughly the output of a 60W incandescent. That is enough to light a small bedroom, hallway, or closet comfortably, but it is ambient and accent light rather than a primary light for a big living room.

Light color and feel

2700K warm white - a soft, golden tone close to traditional incandescent, which flatters warm wood, bronze hardware, and painted walls. The frosted glass diffuses the bulb so the light reads even rather than sharp. Dimmable with standard dimming controls.

Sizing and fit

12 in wide x 12 in deep x 6 in tall, so it hugs the ceiling and clears standard door swings and closet shelving. Best in rooms roughly 10 x 10 ft and smaller, or repeated down a hallway.
