Description
A 2-light outdoor wall lantern in oriental bronze with water glass, sized for front doors, porches, and carriage-style entries.
Carriage House DC takes its cues from early American lanterns: a die-cast aluminum frame in an oriental bronze finish, fitted with water glass that gives the light a soft, slightly rippled texture. It is a substantial lantern, so it holds its own beside a tall front door rather than disappearing against the wall.
Best for
- Front entryways and covered porches, paired on either side of a door
- Colonial, farmhouse, and early American exteriors
- Garage doors and side entries where a larger lantern suits the scale
- Coastal and country homes that want a traditional lantern silhouette
Not ideal for
- Narrow wall spaces - it projects 12 in and needs room to clear trim and railings
- Anyone wanting an integrated LED - it takes two candelabra bulbs, sold separately
How bright is it?
Two 60W candelabra incandescent bulbs, which the manufacturer lists at roughly 1344 lumens combined - about as bright as a strong pair of porch bulbs, enough to light a doorway and the walk up to it.
Light color and feel
The listed 2700K color temperature is a warm, golden white similar to a classic incandescent porch light. Because bulbs are not included, the final color depends on the bulbs you choose; a 2700K candelabra bulb keeps the warm look. Standard dimming is supported.
Sizing and fit
The lantern measures 9 in wide by 16 in tall with a 12 in extension from the wall, and the backplate is 6 in wide by 13 in tall. The mounting point sits 11 in from the center of the outlet. At this size it suits single and double front doors and taller facades.
