It is made of Vivex, a material Maxim describes as twice the strength of resin, non-corrosive, and UV resistant, so it holds up to sun and weather better than standard resin housings.

Best for

Front entryways and covered porches, flanking a door in pairs

Garage walls and side doors where a larger lantern suits the scale

Homes in coastal or humid climates that want a non-corrosive housing

Traditional and Early American exteriors in bronze or warm wood tones

Not ideal for

Low-clearance spots - at 24 in tall with a 14 in extension, it needs open wall space

Modern or minimalist facades that call for a slim, understated profile

Anyone expecting bulbs in the box - they are sold separately

How bright is it?

With three 60W candelabra bulbs it produces roughly 2016 lumens, about the output of three 60W incandescent bulbs.
