Description
A 14-inch wide, 3-light semi-flush mount ceiling light from Kichler's Thoreau collection, finished in black with seeded glass shades.
The Thoreau collection features a minimalistic design with exposed bolts and seeded glass, creating an industrial yet refined look. The black finish coordinates with many decor styles, from modern farmhouse to urban loft. This fixture is ideal for rooms with lower ceilings where a flush mount is too flat but a pendant would hang too low.
Best for
- Bedrooms, hallways, and entryways with 8-9 foot ceilings
- Spaces needing ambient light with a modern industrial touch
- Rooms where a low-profile fixture is needed but a flush mount feels too plain
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for dry locations only
- Large rooms over 12x12 feet - the 14-inch diameter may not provide enough light as a primary source
How bright is it?
With three 75W incandescent bulbs (not included), this fixture can produce up to 1800 lumens - suitable for ambient lighting in medium-sized rooms. For equivalent LED brightness, use three 10-12W LED bulbs.
Light color and feel
Bulb color temperature is user-selectable. The seeded glass diffuses light with a subtle textured pattern. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K LED bulbs.
Sizing and fit
Diameter 14 inches, height 8.5 inches. Backplate is 8 inches diameter. Works on flat ceilings; not suitable for sloped ceilings without a slope ceiling kit (not included).
