Description
A 48-inch wide, 4-light island light from Innovations Lighting, finished in matte black with mercury glass shades, ideal for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Preston collection combines a classic bulb-shaped glass with beautiful fluting, complemented by the slim and stylish Arcadia frame. The rounded silhouette of the glass and the sleek metal frame create a warm, inviting ambiance that suits modern and transitional interiors. This fixture is hand-blown and features a matte black finish that pairs well with a variety of decor styles.
Best for
- Kitchen islands measuring 6 feet or longer, hung 30-36 inches above the counter for task and ambient light.
- Dining rooms with a rectangular table, centered above the table for a warm, inviting glow.
- Open-concept living areas where a statement light is needed to define the space.
- Covered patios or sunrooms, as it is damp-rated for covered outdoor areas.
- Vaulted or sloped ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivel.
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure, as it is damp-rated but not wet-rated.
- Spaces with low ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is about 15 inches.
- Areas where a flush mount is required, as this is a hanging fixture.
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to 100 watts (400W total), but the fixture is compatible with LED, fluorescent, and halogen bulbs. With four 100W equivalent LED bulbs, you can expect around 4,000 lumens, which is bright enough for a large kitchen island or dining area. The actual brightness depends on the bulbs you choose.
Light color and feel
The mercury glass shades diffuse light softly, creating a warm, ambient glow. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit the mood. For a warm, inviting feel, choose bulbs with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 48 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 11.63 inches high. It includes two 6-inch and four 12-inch stems, allowing you to customize the hanging length from 14.75 to 38.75 inches. The canopy is 6.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. It weighs 14.95 pounds.
