Description
A 7-inch jar-shaped wall sconce with hand-blown mercury glass, finished in brushed satin nickel, for bedrooms, hallways, and other damp-rated indoor spaces.
The Preston sconce combines a vintage-inspired jar silhouette with a sleek, modern frame. The mercury glass shade casts a soft, diffused glow, while the brushed satin nickel finish adds a touch of industrial elegance. This fixture suits modern, transitional, and vintage-inspired interiors, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
Best for
- Bedrooms, mounted as a reading light beside the bed or above a nightstand
- Hallways and corridors, providing ambient accent lighting
- Damp-rated locations like bathrooms or covered patios, adding a stylish glow
- Living rooms, flanking a fireplace or media console
- Entryways, creating a welcoming first impression
Not ideal for
- Spaces with low ceilings where the 13.5-inch height may feel imposing
- Primary room lighting in large, open areas - this is an accent fixture, not a main light source
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain, despite the damp rating
How bright is it?
Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer, but it accepts a 100W incandescent bulb (not included), which typically produces around 1600 lumens - bright enough for accent and ambient lighting, but not as a primary room light.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, use a 2700K-3000K bulb. The mercury glass shade diffuses light, reducing glare and creating a soft, even glow. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 6.75 inches wide, 7.88 inches deep, and 13.5 inches high, with a 7.88-inch extension from the wall. It fits well in bedrooms, hallways, and bathrooms with standard 8-foot ceilings. The rectangular backplate is 4.5 inches wide and 6.25 inches high.
