Description
A 7-inch jar-shaped wall sconce in oil rubbed bronze with mercury glass, perfect for bathrooms, entryways, and powder rooms.
The Preston sconce features a jar-shaped glass shade with delicate fluting, offering vintage charm with a modern edge. The oil rubbed bronze finish on the Arcadia frame creates a striking contrast, making it a versatile piece for various décor styles. Hand-blown glass adds a unique, artisanal quality.
Best for
- Bathrooms with a vintage or industrial aesthetic, mounted beside a mirror
- Entryways and foyers, providing a warm welcome with ambient light
- Powder rooms, adding a touch of old-world elegance
- Hallways, spaced evenly for a cohesive lighting scheme
- Bedrooms as bedside sconces, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere
Not ideal for
- Modern, minimalist spaces that prefer clean, unadorned fixtures
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain, as it is only damp-rated
- Spaces with very low ceilings, given the 7.88-inch extension
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce can produce up to 1600 lumens, similar to a traditional 100W bulb. For a softer glow, use a lower-wattage LED or dimmer switch. It is dimmable, allowing you to adjust brightness to suit the mood.
Light color and feel
The mercury glass shade has a reflective, slightly smoky appearance that diffuses light softly. For a warm, inviting feel, choose a 2700K-3000K bulb. The fluted glass reduces glare and creates a gentle, ambient glow.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 7.88 inches long, 6.75 inches wide, and 13.5 inches high, with a 7.88-inch extension from the wall. It fits well in bathrooms, entryways, and other spaces with at least 8-foot ceilings. The rectangular backplate is 4.5 inches wide and 6.25 inches high.
