Description
A 7-inch globe wall sconce with hand-blown clear glass and a polished nickel frame, ideal for bathrooms, hallways, and powder rooms.
The Preston sconce pairs a fluted glass globe with a streamlined metal frame, creating a timeless look that fits transitional and modern interiors. The hand-blown glass adds artisanal character, while the polished nickel finish offers a bright, reflective accent. This fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas.
Best for
- Bathrooms with a single or double vanity, mounted on either side of the mirror for even task lighting
- Hallways and corridors, spaced 6-8 feet apart for ambient illumination
- Powder rooms, adding a touch of elegance above a console or pedestal sink
- Bedrooms as bedside sconces, paired with dimmer switches for a soft, relaxing glow
- Covered patios or porches, thanks to its damp-rated construction
Not ideal for
- Spaces with low ceilings where the 8-inch extension might feel obtrusive
- Areas requiring bright, focused task lighting, as this sconce provides ambient illumination
- Outdoor locations exposed to direct rain or moisture, as it is only damp-rated
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce can produce up to 1600 lumens, comparable to a traditional 100W bulb. For a softer glow, use a 60W equivalent LED bulb. It is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit your mood.
Light color and feel
The fixture itself does not determine light color; it depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, inviting ambiance, select a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The clear glass shade will showcase the bulb, so consider a vintage-style filament bulb for a decorative touch.
Sizing and fit
This sconce measures 8 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 11.75 inches high, with an 8-inch extension from the wall. It is wall-mounted with a rectangular backplate (4.5" W x 6.25" H) and requires partial assembly. Ideal for rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings.
