Description
A compact 6-inch semi-flush mount with a hand-blown mercury glass globe, finished in antique brass - ideal for hallways, bedrooms, and entryways with lower ceilings.
The Preston pairs a classic fluted bulb-shaped glass with the slim Arcadia frame, blending industrial and transitional styles. The mercury glass shade casts a warm, diffused glow, while the antique brass finish adds a vintage touch. This fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for covered porches and bathrooms.
Best for
- Hallways and corridors with 8-9 ft ceilings, providing ambient light without taking up visual space
- Bedrooms as a soft overhead light, especially in rooms 10x10 ft or smaller
- Entryways and foyers, mounted at standard height to welcome guests with a warm glow
- Covered patios and porches, thanks to its damp-rated construction
- Bathrooms with adequate clearance, as a stylish vanity or general light
Not ideal for
- Large open-concept living areas that need bright, primary illumination - this is an accent or ambient fixture
- Sloped ceilings - this fixture is not sloped-ceiling adaptable
- Spaces where you prefer a modern, minimalist look - the vintage mercury glass and antique brass lean traditional
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this fixture can produce up to about 1600 lumens - similar to a standard 100W bulb. However, the mercury glass shade diffuses light, so the effective brightness is softer, ideal for ambient lighting rather than task lighting.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, inviting ambiance, use a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The mercury glass adds a subtle, shimmering effect, creating a cozy, vintage feel. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood.
Sizing and fit
This semi-flush mount measures 6.25 inches wide and 12.25 inches high, making it a compact choice for spaces with 8-foot ceilings. The canopy is 4.88 inches in diameter. It is hardwired and requires partial assembly.
