Brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. The fixture accepts four medium-base (E26) bulbs, up to 60W each (or LED equivalent). With four 60W incandescent bulbs, expect about 3200 lumens total - bright enough for a primary kitchen island light. For a softer glow, use lower-wattage or dimmable bulbs.
