Brightness depends on the bulb you choose. The fixture accepts one medium-base (E26) bulb up to 60W equivalent. With a typical 60W incandescent or 800-lumen LED, it provides ample light for a small island or dining area. For a softer glow, use a lower-wattage vintage bulb.
