Description
A 5-light globe pendant from the Newton Sphere collection, finished in polished nickel with light smoke glass shades, for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Newton Sphere brings modern industrial architecture to a classic globe silhouette. Each light smoke glass shade is held by a polished nickel frame with oversized thumb screws, making cleaning simple. The textured cords can be cut to your desired length, and the pendants can be hung at staggered heights for a custom look.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung in a row at staggered heights
- Dining rooms over a rectangular table, providing ambient and task light
- Open-plan living areas where a sculptural statement is wanted
- Spaces with sloped ceilings, as it is sloped ceiling compatible
- Damp locations like covered patios or sunrooms
Not ideal for
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 ft, as the minimum hanging height is 22.75 inches
- Spaces needing a single, compact light source - this is a large, multi-light fixture
- Areas where the shades might be bumped, as they are glass and must be hung at staggered heights to avoid conflict
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 100W bulb, so with five bulbs you can achieve substantial brightness. Lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose; with standard 100W incandescent bulbs, expect around 1600-1700 lumens total, similar to a bright living room light. For a softer glow, use lower-wattage or dimmable LED bulbs.
Light color and feel
The light smoke glass shades diffuse the light, creating a warm, ambient glow. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood from bright task lighting to a cozy dinner setting. The color temperature will depend on your bulbs; warm white (2700K-3000K) complements the polished nickel and smoke glass beautifully.
Sizing and fit
This pendant measures 8 inches long, 39.75 inches wide, and 9.13 inches high, with a minimum hanging height of 22.75 inches and a maximum of 130.75 inches. The canopy is 5.13 inches long and 36 inches wide. It is designed for sloped ceilings and includes 120 inches of cord per pendant, which can be cut to fit your space.
