Description
A 40-inch wide five-light linear pendant from the Newton Sphere Collection, finished in matte black with seedy glass shades - ideal for kitchen islands and dining rooms that need a dramatic, sculptural light source.
The Newton Sphere Collection combines modern industrial design with exceptional architectural details. The iconic globe-shaped shades are crafted from seedy glass, adding texture and vintage character. The matte black finish and cast brass accents create a bold, contemporary look that anchors a room. With five lights on a linear bar, this pendant provides generous illumination and a striking visual statement.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter
- Dining room tables seating 6-8, centered over the table
- Open-concept living areas where a linear pendant defines the space
- Entryways and foyers with high ceilings, hung at staggered heights
- Damp-rated locations like covered patios or sunrooms
Not ideal for
- Small rooms under 10x10 ft - the 40-inch width may overwhelm the space
- Spaces with low ceilings (under 8 ft) unless hung at the minimum height of 22.75 inches
- Areas requiring a single, compact light source
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to 100W (total 500W) incandescent bulbs, but actual brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. With five 60W equivalent LED bulbs, you can expect around 4000 lumens - enough to brightly light a large kitchen or dining area. Since bulbs are not included, you can select the brightness that suits your space.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs; for a brighter, more neutral light, opt for 3500K-4000K. The seedy glass shades diffuse light softly, creating a warm, textured ambiance. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood with a compatible dimmer switch.
Sizing and fit
This linear pendant measures 39.75 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 9.13 inches tall, with an adjustable hanging height from 22.75 to 130.75 inches. It includes 120 inches of textured cord that can be cut to your desired length. The rectangular canopy is 36 inches wide. The fixture weighs 37.7 lbs and requires partial assembly.
