Description
A four-light globe pendant from the Newton Sphere collection, finished in matte black with seedy glass shades, for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Newton Sphere collection brings modern industrial style with architectural details and a beautiful globe-shaped shade. The iconic sphere is available in glass or heavy spun metal, and here it's rendered in seedy glass that diffuses light softly. The matte black steel and cast brass frame adds a sturdy, vintage-inspired look. Pendants can be hung at staggered heights for a custom arrangement.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung in a row for even task lighting
- Dining rooms over a table, providing ambient light for meals
- Open-plan living areas where a statement fixture is needed
- Sloped ceilings, as it is sloped ceiling compatible
- Damp locations like covered patios or sunrooms
Not ideal for
- Low ceilings under 8 ft, as the minimum hanging height is 22.75 inches
- Spaces where you need a single, compact light source - this is a multi-light pendant
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure, despite damp rating, it's not wet rated
How bright is it?
With four 100W incandescent bulbs (not included), this fixture can produce up to 6000 lumens - bright enough for a large kitchen island or dining area. If you use LED bulbs, you can achieve similar brightness with lower wattage.
Light color and feel
The seedy glass shades diffuse light, creating a warm, ambient glow. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood from bright task lighting to soft dinner ambiance. Compatible with incandescent, LED, fluorescent, and halogen bulbs.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 8"(L) x 51.75"(W) x 9.13"(H). The height can be adjusted from 22.75 to 130.75 inches, thanks to the 120-inch cord. The canopy is 5.38"(L) x 48"(W) x 1.63"(H). This pendant is best for rooms with ceilings 9 ft or higher.
