Description
A compact cone-shaped pendant with a hand-blown mercury glass shade, ideal for kitchen islands and dining areas in industrial or farmhouse homes.
The Newton Cone pendant brings an architectural edge to everyday lighting. Its cone-shaped shade is hand-blown glass with a striking mercury finish, paired with a brushed brass frame that adds warmth. The textured cord can be cut to fit your ceiling height, and the shade is easy to remove for cleaning. This fixture is a standout choice for a kitchen light that combines style and function.
Best for
- Kitchen islands and breakfast bars, hung in a row for task and ambient light
- Dining rooms, centered over a table for a warm, focused glow
- Entryways and foyers, as a statement pendant
- Living rooms with high ceilings, adding an industrial touch
- Covered patios and porches, thanks to its damp-rated construction
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 feet if you need a long drop - the cord can be cut, but the minimum hanging length is about 13 inches
- Rooms where you need a bright, primary light source - this is a single-bulb pendant, best for accent or ambient lighting
How bright is it?
With a maximum 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this pendant can produce up to about 1600 lumens - similar to a traditional 100W bulb. For a softer glow, use a lower-wattage LED or vintage-style bulb. It's ideal for accent lighting over a counter or table, not as the sole light in a large room.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the light level to suit your mood. The mercury glass shade diffuses light softly, creating a warm, inviting ambiance. If you use a 2700K warm white bulb, the light will have a golden, incandescent-like tone that flatters wood and brass finishes.
Sizing and fit
This pendant measures 8 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 9 inches high, with a shade that is 8 inches in diameter. The hanging height is adjustable from 13 to 130 inches, thanks to the 120-inch cord. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter. It works well over kitchen islands or dining tables, and is compatible with sloped ceilings.
