Description
A modern industrial wall sconce with a cone-shaped mercury glass shade, perfect for hallways, bedrooms, and bathrooms where you want architectural detail and warm, ambient light.
The Newton Cone sconce features a champagne bronze finish and a hand-blown mercury glass shade, combining industrial and farmhouse aesthetics. The shade is easily removed with oversized thumb screws for cleaning, and the heavy cast backplate adds durability. Rated for damp locations, it's suitable for bathrooms and covered outdoor areas. Uses one 100W incandescent bulb (not included), compatible with LED, fluorescent, and halogen.
Best for
- Hallways and corridors, mounted at eye level for a warm glow
- Bedrooms as bedside reading lights, flanking the bed
- Bathrooms, thanks to its damp location rating
- Living rooms and staircases, adding architectural interest
- Entryways, providing a welcoming accent
Not ideal for
- Large rooms needing primary illumination - this is an accent light, not a room's main source
- Uncovered outdoor areas - damp rated, not wet rated
- Spaces with very low ceilings if you need a flush mount - this sconce extends 8 inches from the wall
How bright is it?
Brightness depends on the bulb you choose. With a 100W incandescent equivalent, it can provide ample accent or task light. For ambient lighting, consider a lower-wattage LED.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulb. For a warm, cozy feel, choose a 2700K-3000K bulb. The mercury glass shade diffuses light softly, creating a warm, inviting glow.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 8 inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 14 inches high. The shade is 8 inches in diameter and 9.88 inches tall. Extends 8 inches from the wall. Best for hallways, bedrooms, and bathrooms with standard 8-9 foot ceilings.
