Description
An 8-inch wall sconce from the Lawton Sphere collection, finished in polished nickel with clear glass, designed for bathroom vanities and hallways.
The Lawton Sphere sconce is a modern update to the timeless Newton design, featuring a sleek glass holder collar and refined details. The clear glass globe shade and polished nickel finish create a clean, sophisticated look that works well in contemporary and transitional spaces. The fixture can be mounted up or down, offering flexibility in placement.
Best for
- Bathroom vanities, mounted in pairs on either side of a mirror for task lighting
- Powder rooms and hallways, providing a soft ambient glow
- Bedrooms as reading sconces beside the bed
- Living rooms to highlight artwork or architectural features
- Entryways, mounted at eye level for a welcoming touch
Not ideal for
- Large rooms requiring high light output - this is a single-bulb fixture
- Outdoor uncovered areas - rated for damp locations only
- Spaces where a wider light spread is needed - the globe shade focuses light
How bright is it?
With a single 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce can produce about 1,600 lumens if using a 100W equivalent LED bulb - enough for task lighting at a vanity or accent lighting in a hallway. For a softer glow, use a 60W equivalent bulb. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit the mood.
Light color and feel
The clear glass shade provides a crisp, bright light, making it ideal for grooming tasks. For a flattering, warm light, choose a 2700K-3000K LED bulb. The polished nickel finish adds a cool, reflective quality that complements modern bathrooms. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to create a relaxing ambiance.
Sizing and fit
This wall sconce measures 8 inches in height, 7 inches in width, and extends 8 inches from the wall. It is designed for vertical mounting and can be oriented up or down. The backplate is 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture weighs 3.25 pounds, requiring a standard junction box.
