Description
An 8-inch wall sconce from the Lawton Cone collection, finished in polished nickel with a gloss white glass shade, for bathrooms and hallways.
This Lawton Cone sconce updates the classic Newton design with a sleek glass holder collar and refined details. The cone-shaped, hand-blown glass shade in gloss white pairs with a polished nickel finish for a clean, modern look. It can be mounted up or down, and the heavy cast backplate adds durability. Rated for damp locations, it's perfect for bathroom vanities.
Best for
- Bathrooms, mounted on either side of a mirror or above a single vanity
- Hallways and corridors, providing ambient light at eye level
- Bedrooms, as bedside reading lights when mounted up or down
- Powder rooms, adding a modern accent
- Entryways, flanking a console table for a welcoming glow
Not ideal for
- Outdoor areas exposed to rain, as it is only damp-rated
- Spaces needing bright task lighting, as it uses a single 100W bulb
- Very narrow hallways, as the 8-inch extension may protrude too far
How bright is it?
With a single 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this sconce produces approximately 1600 lumens - similar to a traditional 100W bulb. This is suitable for ambient and accent lighting, but not as a primary light source for large rooms.
Light color and feel
The bulb color temperature is not specified, but with a standard incandescent bulb, expect a warm, yellowish glow (around 2700K) that flatters skin tones and creates a cozy atmosphere. The gloss white glass diffuses light softly, reducing glare.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 8 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 8.63 inches high, with an 8-inch extension from the wall. The backplate is 4.5 inches square. Ideal for mounting at eye level (60-66 inches from floor) in bathrooms and hallways.
