Description
A compact 8-inch flush mount with an antique brass canopy and a mercury glass globe, built for hallways, bedrooms, and other low-ceiling spaces.
The Caden Beacon flush mount brings industrial character to modern interiors. Its exposed fittings and heavy cast canopy recall factory lighting, while the hand-blown mercury glass globe softens the look with a vintage, reflective glow. The antique brass finish adds warmth, making it a versatile choice for transitional and industrial decor.
Best for
- Hallways and corridors with 8-foot ceilings, providing ambient light without taking up visual space
- Bedrooms, especially over nightstands or in sitting areas, where a soft glow is desired
- Entryways and foyers, mounted flush to the ceiling to maintain clearance
- Dining rooms and living rooms as a secondary light source, paired with floor lamps or sconces
- Covered porches or bathrooms, thanks to its damp-rated construction
Not ideal for
- Large open rooms needing bright, primary illumination - this is an accent fixture, not a statement light
- Sloped ceilings - this fixture is not sloped-ceiling adaptable
- Spaces where you want a modern, minimalist look - the industrial vintage style is prominent
How bright is it?
This fixture accepts one 100W incandescent bulb (not included) or an equivalent LED. With a standard 100W bulb, it outputs roughly 1600 lumens - similar to a bright living room lamp. For a softer, more ambient feel, use a lower-wattage or dimmable LED bulb.
Light color and feel
The mercury glass shade diffuses light, creating a soft, slightly muted glow that flatters warm interiors. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit the mood. For a warm, cozy atmosphere, choose a 2700K-3000K bulb; for a crisper, more energetic light, opt for 3500K-4000K.
Sizing and fit
This flush mount measures 8 inches in diameter and 12.75 inches in height, making it ideal for ceilings as low as 8 feet. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture weighs just 2.8 lbs, so it's easy to install on standard junction boxes.
