Description
A 12-inch flush mount ceiling light with a mercury glass globe, finished in matte black - ideal for hallways, bedrooms, and covered porches.
The Caden Beacon flush mount brings industrial inspiration with exposed fittings, but its clean lines and dramatic styling take a modern approach. The matte black metal canopy contrasts beautifully with the hand-blown mercury glass globe, creating a vintage yet contemporary look that fits seamlessly into industrial, restoration-vintage, or traditional interiors.
Best for
- Hallways and entryways with 8-9 ft ceilings, providing ambient light and a stylish focal point
- Bedrooms, mounted above a dresser or in a seating area for soft, warm illumination
- Covered porches or patios, thanks to its damp-rated construction
- Kitchens, as a supplementary light over a sink or breakfast bar
- Living rooms with low ceilings where a pendant would be too tall
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - while damp-rated, it is not wet-rated for spray
- Spaces with sloped ceilings, as this fixture is not sloped-ceiling adaptable
- Large rooms needing bright, task-level lighting - this is an accent or ambient fixture
How bright is it?
Lumen output not specified by manufacturer, but it accepts a 100W incandescent bulb (not included). With a standard 100W bulb, you can expect roughly 1600 lumens - bright enough for ambient lighting in a medium-sized room, but not for task-heavy areas like a kitchen workspace.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy glow, opt for a 2700K-3000K LED or incandescent bulb. The mercury glass shade diffuses light softly, reducing glare and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. This fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood with a compatible dimmer switch.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 12 inches wide by 12 inches deep and 14.5 inches high. The flush mount design keeps it close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture weighs just 2.8 pounds, so it can be mounted to a standard electrical box.
