Best for
- Hallways, mounted at eye level to provide ambient light and visual interest
- Bedrooms, placed beside the bed as a reading light or accent
- Living rooms, flanking a fireplace or artwork for a balanced look
- Damp locations like bathrooms or covered patios, as it is damp rated
- Staircases, mounted to illuminate the path
Not ideal for
- Large rooms requiring bright, primary lighting, as this is a single accent light
- Spaces with very low ceilings, as the sconce extends 7 inches from the wall
- Areas where a downlight is preferred, as this sconce can be mounted up or down
How bright is it?
Each socket is rated for up to 100 watts, but the fixture is compatible with LED, fluorescent, and halogen bulbs. With a single bulb, the brightness depends on the bulb you choose. For example, a 60W equivalent LED bulb provides about 800 lumens, similar to a standard table lamp. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit the mood.
Light color and feel
The fixture does not specify a color temperature, but it is compatible with bulbs from warm to cool white. For a warm, inviting glow, choose bulbs around 2700K-3000K. The light smoke glass shade diffuses the light, creating a soft, ambient effect. The fixture is dimmable, so you can create a cozy ambiance or bright light for tasks.
Sizing and fit
The sconce measures 5 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 10.75 inches high. It extends 7 inches from the wall. The backplate is 4.5 inches wide, 6.25 inches high, and 0.75 inches deep. This sconce is best suited for hallways, bedrooms, and living rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings.
