Description
A 48-inch linear island light with eight striped clear glass shades, finished in satin nickel, for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas collection takes an industrial approach to modern sophistication. This linear fixture features cylindrical glass shades set in an updated restoration-style frame with intricate knurling detail on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The satin nickel finish and striped clear glass create a refined, textured look that complements a variety of interiors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands, providing bright task lighting over a 6-8 foot island
- Dining rooms, as a statement light over a table
- Game rooms and dinettes, adding a stylish focal point
- Kitchenettes, illuminating a compact eating area
- Open-plan living spaces, defining the dining zone
Not ideal for
- Low ceilings, as the minimum hanging height is 17 inches and the fixture is 10.75 inches tall
- Spaces where you need a soft, diffused light, as the clear glass shades expose the bulbs
- Bathrooms with direct water exposure, despite damp rating, as the fixture is not wet rated
How bright is it?
Brightness depends on the bulbs you choose (bulbs not included). With eight 60W equivalent LED bulbs, you can expect around 4800 lumens - enough for a large kitchen island or dining table.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you choose. For a warm, inviting feel, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs. The clear glass shades will showcase the bulbs, so consider vintage-style or filament bulbs for a decorative look.
Sizing and fit
Measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 10.75 inches high. Hanging height is adjustable from 17.08 to 35.08 inches using the included stems. Canopy is 15.75 inches long. Suitable for rooms with 8-foot ceilings or higher.
