Description
A 48-inch wide, 8-light island light from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with deco swirl glass shades - ideal for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Boreas island light combines industrial style with modern sophistication. The cylindrical glass shades feature a deco swirl pattern, set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling detail on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish on metal adds a bold, contemporary touch. Includes stems for adjustable hanging length and a 90-degree swivel for sloped ceilings.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the countertop
- Dining rooms over a rectangular table, centered for even illumination
- Game rooms or dinettes needing a stylish, industrial glow
- Spaces with sloped or vaulted ceilings, thanks to the included swivel
- Covered patios or porches, as it is damp-rated
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 35-inch hanging length
- Traditional or ornate interiors that clash with its industrial style
How bright is it?
Lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose (not included). With eight 60W equivalent LED bulbs, you can expect around 6400 lumens - bright enough for a large kitchen island or dining room. For a softer glow, use lower-wattage bulbs.
Light color and feel
The deco swirl glass shades diffuse light softly, creating a warm, ambient glow. For a warm, inviting feel, choose 2700K-3000K LED bulbs. Dimmable, so you can adjust the brightness to suit the occasion.
Sizing and fit
The island light measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 10.75 inches high. Hanging height adjusts from 17.08 to 35.08 inches using the included two 6-inch and four 12-inch stems. The canopy is 15.75 inches long. Weighs 12 lbs.
