Description
An 8-light linear island light from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with white glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas Collection brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Cylindrical glass shades sit in an updated restoration-style frame, with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and white glass create a clean, tailored look that suits both contemporary and traditional kitchens.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter for task lighting
- Dining rooms with a 6-8 foot table, providing ambient light over the table
- Game rooms or dinettes needing a linear light source
- Open-concept spaces where a long, sculptural fixture anchors the room
Not ideal for
- Small kitchens under 8 feet wide - the 48-inch length may overwhelm the space
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - though damp rated, it's not wet rated
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 30-inch drop
How bright is it?
With eight 60-watt max sockets, brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. Using 60W incandescent equivalent LEDs, you can achieve 800 lumens per bulb, totaling around 6400 lumens - enough for a large kitchen island or dining area. Lumen output not specified by manufacturer.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs. The white glass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare and creating a pleasant ambiance. Dimmable with compatible dimmer switches.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 13.75 inches high. Hanging length is adjustable from 17.08 to 35.08 inches using the included stems (two 6-inch and four 12-inch). Canopy is 15.75 x 4.5 inches. Suitable for sloped ceilings with the included 90-degree swivel.
