Description
An 8-light chandelier from the Boreas collection, featuring a matte black metal frame and light smoke glass shades, ideal for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Boreas chandelier combines industrial style with modern sophistication. The cylindrical glass shades are hand-blown and set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling details on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and smoke glass create a dramatic yet versatile look that suits contemporary and transitional spaces.
Best for
- Kitchen islands, providing ample illumination for food prep and dining
- Dining rooms, as a statement piece above the table
- Game rooms or dinettes, adding a stylish focal point
- Open-concept living areas, defining the dining zone
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for damp locations only, not wet locations
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 30.75 inches
How bright is it?
With 8 bulbs (not included), each rated up to 60 watts, this chandelier can produce significant brightness. For reference, 8 x 60W incandescent bulbs would be roughly 4800 lumens, enough to light a large dining room or kitchen island.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you choose. For a warm, inviting glow, use 2700K-3000K bulbs. The smoke glass shades will diffuse the light, creating a soft, ambient effect.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 36 inches in length and width, with a height of 28 inches. The hanging height is adjustable from 30.75 to 54.75 inches, making it suitable for most ceilings. It is sloped ceiling compatible.
