Description
An 8-light chandelier from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with seedy glass shades, designed for kitchens and dining rooms.
The Boreas chandelier brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Its cylindrical glass shades are set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and seedy glass create a vintage yet contemporary look that anchors a room.
Best for
- Kitchens over a large island or dining table, providing ample ambient light
- Dining rooms with ceilings 8 ft or higher, hung at a comfortable height
- Game rooms, dinettes, and kitchenettes where a statement fixture is desired
- Open-concept living areas that need a central light source
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Spaces with low ceilings under 8 ft, as the minimum hanging height is 30.75 inches
- Rooms where you need a flush mount or close-to-ceiling installation
How bright is it?
With eight 60-watt maximum sockets (bulbs not included), the total brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. Using standard 60W incandescent bulbs, you can expect around 4800 lumens - enough to brightly light a large kitchen or dining area. LED or CFL equivalents can provide similar brightness with less energy.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose bulbs with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K. The seedy glass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare and creating a pleasant ambiance. This fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 36 inches in length and width, with a height of 28 inches. The hanging height can be adjusted from 30.75 to 54.75 inches using the included 60-inch chain. It is sloped ceiling compatible, making it versatile for various ceiling types. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter.
