Description
An 8-light chandelier from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with clear glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Boreas chandelier brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Its cylindrical glass shades are set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and clear glass create a versatile look that complements both rustic and contemporary interiors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands and dining tables, providing ample ambient light for meals and gatherings
- Game rooms and dinettes, adding a stylish focal point
- Open-concept living areas where a statement fixture is needed
- Rooms with sloped ceilings, as it is sloped ceiling compatible
- Damp locations such as covered patios or bathrooms with ventilation
Not ideal for
- Spaces with low ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 30.75 inches
- Areas where a flush mount is required, as this is a hanging chandelier
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain, despite damp rating
How bright is it?
With eight 60-watt maximum sockets, this chandelier can produce up to 4800 lumens (assuming 60W incandescent bulbs), making it bright enough to serve as a primary light source in medium to large rooms. The actual brightness depends on the bulbs you choose; LED bulbs can provide similar light with less energy.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose bulbs with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K. Clear glass shades allow the bulb to be visible, so consider using decorative filament bulbs for a vintage look. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the ambiance.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 36 inches in length and width, with a height of 28 inches. The hanging height can be adjusted from 30.75 to 54.75 inches, making it suitable for ceilings up to 9 feet or higher. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture weighs 12 pounds.
