Description
A 36-inch, 8-light chandelier from the Boreas collection, finished in polished nickel with deco swirl glass shades - an industrial-modern statement for dining rooms and kitchens.
The Boreas chandelier combines an updated restoration-style frame with intricate knurling details on the sockets, canopy, and finials. Eight cylindrical glass shades in a deco swirl pattern diffuse the light beautifully, while the polished nickel finish adds a touch of sophistication. Hand-blown glass and a sloped ceiling compatible design make this a versatile and eye-catching centerpiece.
Best for
- Dining rooms with a 6-8 ft table, hung 30-36 in above the tabletop for warm ambient light
- Kitchens with a large island or breakfast bar, providing even illumination
- Game rooms or dinettes where a stylish, durable fixture is needed
- Open-concept living areas, as a focal point above a seating area
- Rooms with 9-10 ft ceilings, using the adjustable chain to achieve the perfect height
Not ideal for
- Small powder rooms or hallways - the 36-inch width is too large for tight spaces
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 ft unless hung very high, as the minimum height is 30.75 inches
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - damp rated, but not wet rated
How bright is it?
Each socket is rated for up to 60 watts, and with 8 bulbs, you can achieve up to 480 watts total - roughly 4800 lumens with incandescent bulbs. This is bright enough to serve as the primary light source in a large dining room or kitchen.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the light level from bright and functional to soft and intimate. The deco swirl glass shades diffuse the light, creating a warm, inviting glow. For a warm ambiance, use 2700K-3000K LED bulbs; for a cooler, more energetic feel, choose 4000K-5000K.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 36 inches in length, width, and height, with an adjustable height from 30.75 to 54.75 inches (including the 60-inch chain). The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter. Weighing only 12 lbs, it can be mounted on most standard ceiling boxes. Ideal for ceilings 9 ft or higher.
