Description
A 36-inch, 8-light chandelier from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with clear cylindrical glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Boreas Collection brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Each cylindrical glass shade is hand-blown and set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and clear glass create a striking contrast that works in both traditional and contemporary spaces.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 60 inches or longer, hung 30-36 inches above the counter
- Dining rooms with tables seating 6-8, centered over the table
- Game rooms or dinettes needing a statement light with even illumination
- Open-concept living areas where the fixture is visible from multiple angles
Not ideal for
- Low ceilings under 8 feet - the minimum hanging height is 30.75 inches
- Spaces needing bright task lighting - this is an ambient fixture, not a work light
- Outdoor or wet areas - rated for damp locations only, not wet
How bright is it?
With eight 60-watt max sockets (bulbs not included), brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. Using 60W incandescent equivalents, expect around 800 lumens per bulb, totaling about 6400 lumens - enough to illuminate a large dining room or kitchen island. LED bulbs can provide similar brightness with less energy.
Light color and feel
The clear glass shades let the bulb's natural color shine through. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K LED bulbs. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood from bright and lively to soft and intimate. No CRI is specified, but clear glass ensures accurate color rendering.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 36 inches long, 36 inches wide, and 28 inches high. It hangs from a 60-inch chain, allowing a height range of 30.75 to 54.75 inches. The canopy is 4.5 inches in diameter. It is sloped ceiling compatible, making it versatile for various ceiling types.
