Description
A 29-inch, six-light chandelier from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with striped white glass shades, designed for kitchens and dining rooms.
The Boreas chandelier brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Its cylindrical striped white glass shades are set in a restoration-style frame with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and hand-blown glass create a rugged yet refined look that anchors a dining table or kitchen island.
Best for
- Dining rooms with tables 48-72 inches long, hung 30-36 inches above the tabletop
- Kitchen islands in open-plan spaces, providing ambient light over a 6-8 foot island
- Game rooms or dinettes needing a statement fixture with warm, diffused light
- Kitchenettes and breakfast nooks where a compact chandelier fits the scale
- Sloped ceilings, as it is sloped ceiling compatible
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or covered outdoor areas - this fixture is rated for damp locations only, not wet locations
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 60-inch chain drop
- Rooms where you need a single bright task light - this is an ambient fixture
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 60-watt bulb (bulbs not included). With six bulbs, you can achieve a total of up to 360 watts. For LED bulbs, expect around 800 lumens per bulb, making the total brightness comparable to a 300-watt incandescent - suitable for ambient lighting in medium to large rooms.
Light color and feel
The striped white glass shades diffuse light, creating a warm, inviting glow. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood from bright and lively to soft and intimate. Use dimmable LED bulbs for best results.
Sizing and fit
The chandelier measures 29 inches wide by 29 inches deep and 24 inches high. The height can be adjusted from 30.75 to 54.75 inches using the included 60-inch chain. It works well in rooms with 8-10 foot ceilings.
