Description
A 48-inch wide, 8-light linear island light from the Boreas Collection, finished in satin nickel with striped white cylindrical glass shades - ideal for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas linear island light offers an industrial take on modern sophistication. The satin nickel frame features intricate knurling details on the sockets, canopy, and finials, while the cylindrical striped white glass shades add a soft, textured glow. The fixture includes two 6-inch and four 12-inch stems for a customizable hanging length of up to 30 inches.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter
- Dining rooms over a long table, providing ambient light for meals
- Game rooms or dinette areas needing a stylish focal point
- Spaces with sloped or vaulted ceilings, thanks to the included swivel
- Damp-rated locations like covered patios or sunrooms
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms or outdoor areas exposed to direct water - this fixture is rated for damp locations only, not wet
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 35-inch hanging length
- Spaces requiring bright task lighting - this is an ambient fixture
How bright is it?
Each socket is rated for up to 60W, but the fixture's brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. With eight 60W equivalent LED bulbs, you can expect around 6400 lumens total - bright enough for ambient lighting over a large island.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 13.75 inches high, with an adjustable hanging height from 17.08 to 35.08 inches using the included stems. The canopy is 15.75 x 4.5 inches. It suits islands in large kitchens.
