Description
A 48-inch linear island light with eight cylindrical seedy glass shades and a polished nickel frame, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas collection takes an industrial approach to modern sophistication, featuring cylindrical glass set in an updated restoration-style frame with intricate knurling detail on the sockets, canopy, and finials. This linear pendant provides broad, even illumination, making it a striking centerpiece for larger spaces. The polished nickel finish and seedy glass create a refined, vintage-inspired look.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung in the center for task and ambient lighting
- Dining rooms with rectangular tables, providing even light across the table surface
- Game rooms and dinettes, adding a stylish industrial touch
- Open-plan living areas, defining the kitchen or dining zone
- Vaulted or sloped ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivel
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is rated for damp locations, not wet locations
- Small spaces under 8 ft ceilings if you need the maximum hanging length - it can hang quite low
- Low ceilings under 9 ft if you prefer a flush mount - this is a pendant-style fixture
How bright is it?
Each of the eight sockets accepts up to a 60W incandescent bulb (not included), for a total of up to 480W. With typical LED replacements, you can achieve bright, energy-efficient illumination suitable for a kitchen workspace. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit the mood.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, so you can control the light level. With standard incandescent bulbs, the light is warm and inviting. For a similar warm glow with LED bulbs, choose a color temperature around 2700K-3000K. The seedy glass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare and creating a pleasant ambiance.
Sizing and fit
The linear fixture measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 13.75 inches high. It includes two 6-inch stems and four 12-inch stems, allowing a customizable hanging length from 17.08 to 35.08 inches. The canopy is 15.75 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. It is sloped ceiling compatible with the included swivel.
