Description
A 48-inch wide linear island pendant with eight lights, finished in matte black with striped white glass shades, for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas Collection offers an industrial take on modern sophistication. This linear fixture features cylindrical glass shades set in an updated restoration-style frame with intricate knurling details on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and striped white glass create a striking, contemporary look that anchors a large kitchen island.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 60 inches or longer, hung 30-36 inches above the counter
- Dining room tables, providing even, ambient light
- Game rooms and dinettes, adding a stylish focal point
- Open-plan living areas, defining the kitchen zone
- Breakfast bars, offering bright task lighting
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct water exposure - this fixture is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Outdoor uncovered areas - not rated for wet locations
- Small spaces under 8 feet wide - the 48-inch width may overwhelm
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 60W bulb (bulbs not included), so with eight bulbs you can achieve up to 480W total. For reference, a 60W incandescent bulb produces about 800 lumens, so this fixture can deliver up to 6400 lumens - very bright, ideal for a large kitchen island or dining area. Use lower-wattage or LED bulbs for a softer glow.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you choose. For a warm, inviting glow, select bulbs with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K. The striped white glass shades diffuse the light, reducing glare and creating a soft, even illumination. This fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness to suit the occasion.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 13.75 inches high. It includes two 6-inch and four 12-inch stems, allowing a customizable hanging length of up to 30 inches, with a minimum height of 17.08 inches. The canopy is 15.75 inches long and 4.5 inches wide. It is suitable for sloped or vaulted ceilings thanks to the included 90-degree swivel.
