Description
An 8-light linear island light from the Boreas Collection, finished in matte black with seedy glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Boreas Collection takes an industrial approach to modern sophistication. Cylindrical glass shades sit in an updated restoration-style frame, with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The matte black finish and seedy glass create a vintage yet contemporary look that anchors a kitchen island or dining table.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter for task and ambient light
- Dining rooms with a rectangular table, centered above for even illumination
- Game rooms and dinettes needing a statement linear light
- Sloped or vaulted ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivel
Not ideal for
- Small powder rooms or hallways - this 48-inch fixture is meant for larger spaces
- Outdoor covered areas - rated for damp locations, not wet locations
How bright is it?
With eight 60-watt maximum sockets (bulbs not included), brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. Using standard 800-lumen LED bulbs, you can achieve over 6000 lumens - enough to light a large kitchen island or dining area as the primary light source.
Light color and feel
The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the light to your preferred level. With warm white bulbs (2700K-3000K), the light feels cozy and inviting, complementing the matte black and seedy glass. For a brighter, more energetic feel, choose cooler bulbs (3500K-4000K).
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 48 inches wide, 3 inches deep, and 13.75 inches high. Hanging height is adjustable from 17.08 to 35.08 inches using the included stems (two 6-inch and four 12-inch). The rectangular canopy is 15.75 inches long. Ideal for ceilings 8 feet or higher.
