Description
A 48-inch, 8-light linear island light from the Boreas Collection, finished in brushed brass with striped clear glass shades, for kitchen islands and dining rooms.
The Boreas Collection brings an industrial edge to modern sophistication. Cylindrical striped clear glass shades sit in a restoration-style metal frame with intricate knurling on the sockets, canopy, and finials. The brushed brass finish adds warmth, making it a standout over a kitchen island or dining table.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6 to 8 feet long, centered over the island for task and ambient light
- Dining rooms with tables seating 6 to 8, hung 30-36 inches above the tabletop
- Game rooms and dinettes needing a linear, industrial statement light
- Kitchenettes or breakfast nooks with a linear layout
- Sloped or vaulted ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivel
Not ideal for
- Small powder rooms or hallways - this is a large, linear fixture meant for open spaces
- Low ceilings under 8 feet if you need the full 30-inch hanging length
- Outdoor uncovered areas - rated for damp locations only, not wet
How bright is it?
With 8 sockets rated for 60W each, total brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. Using 60W equivalent LED bulbs (about 800 lumens each), you can achieve roughly 6400 lumens - bright enough for a large kitchen or dining area. Lumen output is not specified by the manufacturer.
Light color and feel
Color temperature depends on the bulbs you install. For a warm, inviting glow, choose 2700K-3000K bulbs. The striped clear glass shades diffuse light softly, reducing glare and creating a warm ambiance. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust brightness to suit the mood.
