Description
A 48-inch, 4-light island light from the Brookhaven Flute collection, finished in Brushed Satin Nickel with amber glass bell shades, ideal for kitchen islands and dining areas.
This linear island light brings a sleek, industrial aesthetic to your kitchen. The Brushed Satin Nickel finish is versatile and modern, while the hand-blown amber glass shades cast a warm, inviting glow. The fixture is designed to provide focused task lighting over a kitchen island or dining table, and its adjustable stems allow for a customized hanging height.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 4-6 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the countertop
- Dining tables in open-plan living areas, providing a central light source
- Breakfast nooks and banquette seating, adding a stylish focal point
- Home bars or serving areas, illuminating the workspace
- Hallways or long corridors, offering linear ambient light
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is damp-rated but not wet-rated
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 14.75 inches
- Rooms needing a single point of light - this is a linear fixture designed for elongated spaces
How bright is it?
This island light uses four bulbs, each rated up to 100 watts (400W total). With LED bulbs, you can achieve a bright, energy-efficient output. The lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose; for reference, a 100W incandescent bulb produces about 1600 lumens. This fixture can easily light a large kitchen island or dining area.
Light color and feel
The amber glass shades filter light to create a warm, golden glow that enhances the Brushed Satin Nickel finish. The color temperature depends on the bulbs you select - warm white (2700K-3000K) will complement the amber glass and create a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood from bright and energetic to soft and intimate.
Sizing and fit
The island light measures 48 inches in width, 7 inches in depth, and 15.88 inches in height. With the included stems, the hanging height can be adjusted from 14.75 to 38.75 inches. The canopy is 4.5 inches by 6.25 inches. It is suitable for rooms with standard 8-foot ceilings and can accommodate sloped or vaulted ceilings with the included 90-degree swivel.
