Description
A four-light island pendant in matte black with opal glass shades, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas that need a sleek, modern light source.
The Brookhaven Flute island light features a minimalist matte black frame with hand-blown opal glass shades that diffuse light softly. The bell-shaped shades and adjustable stems allow for a customized hanging height, making it a versatile choice for various ceiling heights. This fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas as well.
Best for
- Kitchen islands 6-8 ft long, hung in a row for even illumination
- Dining rooms over a 6-8 ft table, providing ambient light
- Open-concept living areas where the fixture can be seen from multiple angles
- Covered patios or porches, thanks to its damp rating
- Breakfast nooks or bar seating areas, adding a modern touch
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is rated for damp locations only, not wet locations
- Spaces with ceilings under 8 ft if you need the full 30-inch hanging length
- Rooms where a flush mount or semi-flush is required due to low clearance
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 100W incandescent bulb (not included), so the total brightness depends on the bulbs you choose. With four 100W bulbs, you can achieve a bright, ambient light suitable for a large kitchen or dining area. For a softer glow, use lower-wattage or LED bulbs.
Light color and feel
The opal glass shades diffuse the light, creating a soft, even glow that reduces glare. If you use incandescent bulbs, expect a warm, inviting light that flatters wood tones and neutral palettes. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood from bright and energetic to soft and intimate.
Sizing and fit
This fixture measures 7"(L) x 48"(W) x 15.88"(H), with a height range of 14.75 to 38.75 inches. The shades are 7"(D) x 7"(W) x 12"(H). The canopy is 4.5"(D) x 6.25"(W) x 0.75"(H). It includes two 6-inch stems and four 12-inch stems for a customizable hanging length of up to 30 inches, and is sloped ceiling adaptable.
