Description
A 48-inch, 4-light island pendant from the Brookhaven Flute Collection, finished in brushed brass with sapphire blue glass shades, for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Brookhaven Flute brings a dynamic, sculptural presence to any space. Its sleek metal frame and hand-blown glass shades in a rich sapphire blue create a striking focal point. The brushed brass finish adds warmth, while the industrial and transitional styling makes it versatile for a range of décors.
Best for
- Kitchen islands measuring 6-8 feet long, hung 30-36 inches above the counter
- Dining rooms with a rectangular table, centered over the table
- Open-plan living areas where a statement light is needed
- Vaulted or sloped ceilings, thanks to the included 90-degree swivel
- Homes with a modern-contemporary or restoration-vintage aesthetic
Not ideal for
- Low ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is about 15 inches
- Spaces where a flush mount is required, as this is a hanging pendant
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure, despite the damp rating, due to its size
How bright is it?
Each socket accepts up to a 100W bulb (bulbs not included), so with four bulbs you can achieve substantial brightness. For example, four 100W incandescent equivalents would produce around 6400 lumens, enough to light a large kitchen island or dining area. LED bulbs are recommended for energy efficiency and lower heat.
Light color and feel
The fixture itself does not determine light color; it depends on the bulbs you choose. For a warm, inviting glow, select bulbs with a color temperature of 2700K-3000K. The sapphire blue glass shades will diffuse the light, creating a soft, colored ambiance.
Sizing and fit
Overall dimensions are 48 inches wide, 7 inches deep, and 15.88 inches high. The hanging height is adjustable from 14.75 to 38.75 inches using the included stems (two 6-inch and four 12-inch). The canopy is 4.5 inches deep and 6.25 inches wide. This pendant is best for ceilings 9 feet or higher.
