Description
A 45-inch wide, 5-light island light from the Barrington Collection, finished in polished nickel with clear glass globes, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Barrington Collection blends modern design with organic elegance, featuring flowing lines and radiant clear glass globes. This island light adds a touch of contemporary sophistication to any space, with its sleek steel frame and polished nickel finish.
Best for
- Kitchen islands measuring 60-72 inches wide, centered above the island for balanced illumination
- Dining rooms with a rectangular table, hung 30-36 inches above the tabletop
- Open-concept living areas where a statement light is needed over a peninsula or breakfast bar
- Spaces with sloped ceilings, as this fixture is sloped ceiling adaptable
- Damp locations such as covered patios or sunrooms, thanks to its damp rating
Not ideal for
- Small powder rooms or hallways where a 45-inch wide fixture would overwhelm the space
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 12.6 inches and may feel too low
- Outdoor areas exposed to direct rain, as it is rated for damp, not wet, locations
How bright is it?
This fixture uses five bulbs (not included) with a maximum wattage of 300W per bulb, providing ample illumination for task and ambient lighting. With incandescent bulbs, you can expect around 5,000-6,000 lumens total, equivalent to several 60W bulbs. For a more energy-efficient option, LED bulbs are compatible.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulbs you choose. With warm white bulbs (2700K-3000K), the light will be soft and inviting, perfect for dining and relaxation. With cooler bulbs (4000K-5000K), it can provide a brighter, more energizing light for cooking. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the mood.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 45 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 9 inches high. The hanging height is adjustable from 12.6 to 129.6 inches, thanks to the 10-foot cord. The canopy is 10.6 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. It is designed for ceilings at least 8 feet high, but works best with 9-foot or higher ceilings for a comfortable hanging height.
