Description
A 45-inch wide, 5-light island light from the Barrington Collection, finished in brushed brass with clear glass globes, designed for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Barrington Collection blends modern design with organic elegance, featuring a flowing aesthetic cradled in radiant clear glass globes. The brushed brass finish and steel construction offer a sleek, contemporary look that complements a variety of interiors. This fixture is dimmable and damp-rated, making it a versatile choice for many spaces.
Best for
- Kitchen islands measuring 6-8 feet long, providing even ambient and task lighting over the counter.
- Dining rooms with a rectangular table, hung 30-36 inches above the tabletop.
- Large entryways or foyers with high ceilings, adding a statement piece.
- Covered patios or sunrooms, thanks to its damp-rated safety listing.
- Open-concept living areas where a linear light defines the space.
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is damp-rated, not wet-rated.
- Rooms with ceilings under 8 feet, as the minimum hanging height is 12.6 inches and may feel too low.
- Small powder rooms or hallways where a 45-inch width would overwhelm the space.
How bright is it?
This fixture accepts five bulbs (not included) with a maximum of 300W each. If you use standard 60W incandescent bulbs, the total output would be around 4,000 lumens - bright enough for a primary kitchen or dining light. With LED bulbs, you can achieve similar brightness at lower wattage. Actual lumen output depends on the bulbs you choose.
Light color and feel
The clear glass globes allow the bulbs to shine directly, creating a bright, crisp light. The fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood from bright task lighting to a softer glow. The color temperature will depend on the bulbs you select - warm white (2700K-3000K) creates a cozy, inviting feel, while cooler temperatures (3500K-5000K) are more energizing.
Sizing and fit
This island light measures 45 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 9 inches high. The adjustable cord allows a hanging height from 12.6 to 129.6 inches, making it suitable for most ceiling heights. The canopy is 5.5 inches in diameter, and the fixture weighs 5 pounds. It is sloped ceiling compatible.
