Description
A 32-inch island light from the Barrington Collection, finished in polished nickel with clear glass globes - perfect for kitchen islands and dining areas.
The Barrington island light blends modern design with organic elegance. Its flowing silhouette and clear glass globes create a radiant, contemporary look that complements a variety of interiors. The adjustable cord allows for flexible hanging heights, making it a versatile choice for larger spaces.
Best for
- Kitchen islands, hung 28-34 inches above the counter for focused task lighting
- Dining rooms, centered over a table for ambient and accent light
- Large entryways and foyers, making a statement
- Open-concept living areas, providing broad illumination
- Breakfast nooks and bar seating, adding warmth
Not ideal for
- Bathrooms with direct shower exposure - this fixture is damp-rated, not wet-rated
- Outdoor uncovered areas - not rated for wet locations
- Small powder rooms or hallways where a 32-inch width may overwhelm
How bright is it?
With three 180W incandescent bulbs (not included), this fixture can produce up to 7200 lumens - bright enough to serve as a primary light source in a kitchen or dining room. For energy efficiency, use LED bulbs with lower wattage.
Light color and feel
The clear glass globes disperse light evenly, creating a warm, inviting glow. The fixture is dimmable, allowing you to adjust the brightness from bright and functional to soft and intimate. Use a standard dimmer switch for best results.
Sizing and fit
The island light measures 31.5 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 9 inches high, with an adjustable cord that extends from 12.6 to 129.6 inches. It works well over kitchen islands and dining tables in rooms with standard 8-9 foot ceilings. The sloped ceiling compatibility adds flexibility for angled ceilings.
