Description
A 5-inch semi-flush mount ceiling light with a seedy glass bell shade, finished in black antique brass - ideal for hallways, bedrooms, and other spaces with lower ceilings.
The Ballston from the Bridal Veil Collection brings an art-deco-inspired silhouette to everyday rooms. Its steel and cast brass construction is finished in a rich black antique brass, while the hand-blown seedy glass shade adds a vintage, textured look. This compact fixture mounts flush to the ceiling, making it a smart choice for spaces where a hanging pendant would feel intrusive.
Best for
- Hallways and corridors with 8-foot ceilings, providing ambient light without taking up visual space
- Bedrooms, especially over nightstands or in reading nooks, where a soft glow is desired
- Entryways and foyers, adding a touch of vintage elegance
- Bathrooms and covered porches, as it is rated for damp locations
- Small dining areas or breakfast nooks, where a compact fixture is needed
Not ideal for
- Large open rooms needing bright, primary illumination - this is a single-bulb accent light
- Sloped or vaulted ceilings, as it is not sloped-ceiling adaptable
- Spaces where you want to show off a decorative bulb, as the glass shade obscures the bulb
How bright is it?
With a single 100W incandescent bulb (not included), this fixture can produce up to about 1600 lumens - similar to a traditional 100W bulb. That's enough for ambient lighting in a small to medium room, but not for task lighting. For a softer glow, use a lower-wattage LED or dimmable bulb.
Light color and feel
The light color depends on the bulb you choose. For a warm, cozy feel, opt for a 2700K-3000K bulb. The seedy glass shade diffuses the light, creating a soft, textured glow that adds character. This fixture is dimmable, so you can adjust the mood to suit the time of day.
Sizing and fit
The fixture measures 5 inches wide by 10.25 inches high, with a round canopy of 4.5 inches. It's designed for standard 8-foot ceilings, but works well in most rooms. The compact size makes it a great choice for smaller spaces.
